Introduction to Islam

For a Christian, the study of Islam can be an unsettling experience. As one begins to peel back the layers of the stereotype that is portrayed as the Muslim, one finds that in many ways the Muslim is non so different than the Christian. Each believes in a self-directed divinity fudge who has created all, will judge all, and will reward those who generate obeyed him and will punish those who have disobeyed him. Each believes that their respective God has revealed himself to his people through a special revelation that has been preserve in written form. Each of these records contain commandments concerning that which pleases God and that which does not please him, and admonishes believers to remain faithful to what God has commanded them to do. Many of the commandments be even quite similar to one another, including such things as caring for the needy, loving ones neighbors, and, above all, not serving any other God.
