psychoneurotic disorder (OCD) is characterized by a person having obsessions, compulsions, or a combination of both. Most children with obsessive- compulsive disorder have a combination of both characteristics (McCracken, 2005). Obsessions include impulses, intrusive thoughts, or images that whitethorn cause distress or anxiety. They are defined as repetitive unwanted ideas or impulses that are constantly present. somewhat examples of obsessions include solicitude of dying and not going to heaven, fear of germs, or sexual impulses. Compulsions are the repetitive behaviors or rational acts that may be done to prevent or void anxiety. They are the responses to the obsessions.
