When I think of or hear the discussion one, I am reminded of something changing around you or in you. When your body realizes a sensation occurring, that is call perception. The different types of sensation have a name, and that is called receptive modality. Some of those sensations argon advert and pain.

General senses are also put into groups: Somatic or visceral senses. Remember that the prefix in somatic is soma, which means body. So, somatic sensations deal with the body, for example, tickling, itch, or vibration. splanchnic sensations deal with your organs and their conditions.
When you think of special senses remember the 4 senses you studied in elementary school: smell, taste hear, and vision. In school you also learned that touch was one of the senses, precisely they technically go into a different category this time.
