College Essay On Terrorism

Terrorism has in the recent times been a major concern to many countries and more and more countries are taking steps to protect their citizens against falling victim to terrorist attacks. The concern for terrorism has even made colleges to start offering lessons on the issue and for those studying terrorism in class, they are often asked to write a college essay on terrorism. An example of such an essay can be as follows
Terrorism implies the policy of making people have fear by using violence means. Terrorists believe that the only way to achieve what they want is to use violent once they have struck fear in the minds of their victims. Terrorism is a barbaric act that in the recent times has become the order of the day. The perception among many people is that those who result to acts of terrorism are those who are disgruntled because they feel like they are unable to have their desires fulfilled by following the channels that have been laid out and accepted by the society. There are many causes for terrorism some of which seem genuine. An example of a cause that seems genuine is that which is done to support some other people to get out of bondage or the fight for freedom. For instance, when Nelson Mandela was leading fellow South Africans to fight for the nation’s freedom, he was labeled a terrorist even though he was fighting for his right and fighting against oppression. One thing that most people agree with is that even when the cause is genuine, people should exhaust other methods first before resorting to terrorism.
