Course Synopsis| | This course aims to develop students skills in listening, speaking, reading and musical composition in English with an emphasis on listening and reading. Students provide be exposed to a range of school text edition types and set using the language appropriately and accurately. Students will also be given the opportunity to develop and integrate these skills in a variety of social and academic situations. |
Course Objectives| | Â By the determination of the course, students should be able to : * listen to and understand text beyond the literal level (identify main ideas, livelihood details, distinguish facts from opinions, identify speakers attitude, role and relationship); * interact accurately and proficiently with intelligible orthoepy in various formal and informal situations; * identify text types, structure and organisation and language features; * read and understand text beyond the literal level (identify main ideas, identify supporting points, make inferences); * summarise facts and write a summary.
