The Victorian Era sparked in 1832, following the Romantic Era , and continued until 1901. This was a period of strict social and semipolitical conservatism and significant reform. Two well known authors, Emily Bronte and Charles Dickens, were brought into the literary world during this time period. Novels from the Victorian Era are tacit actively studied in education today.

England during this era was rule by Queen Victoria. She inhereted the throne at the age of 18 after the death of her fathers three old brothers.
